Upcoming Fall Events in the Hudson Valley

With the summer season coming to an end it is that time of year again to start thinking about all things fall! From the changing colors of the leaves, cooler weather, pumpkins, and apple picking, there are so many exciting things to look forward to. A beautiful place to visit during the fall is the Hudson Valley! It offers endless fall attractions and events throughout the season. If you are looking for something fun and different to do this fall, check out one of these fall events in the Hudson Valley.

New York Renaissance Festival

The New York Renaissance Festival will be held every weekend from August 4 to September 30. It will take place in Tuxedo Park, and the hours are from 10 am to 7 pm. The ticket prices cover all of the performances that include jousting, plays, living history exhibits, craft demonstrations, and more. There are also shops and restaurants. Tickets cost $29.95 for adults, $25.95 for seniors and military, and $13.00 for children.

Oktoberfest will be held at Anthony Wayne Recreation Area near Bear Mountain Park. Oktoberfest will run from September 27 to October 20. The hours on Fridays will be 6 to 10 pm, and the hours on Saturdays and Sundays will be 12 to 6 p.m. There will be live music, traditional German food and beers, and artisan craft vendors. Admission is free, but parking costs $10.00.

Warwick Applefest

Warwick Applefest will be held on October 9 from 9 am to 5 pm. It will be held throughout the parks and streets of Warwick village, and admission is free. Attractions include a farmers’ market, children’s carnival, live performances on several stages, and an apple pie baking contest. There will also be food and drink and over 200 craft vendors.

Best of the Hudson Valley Party

The Best of the Hudson Valley Party will take place on October 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. It will be held at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel in Poughkeepsie. It is a celebration of the best restaurants, shops, and services as chosen by the readers and editors of “Hudson Valley Magazine.” There will be over 100 exhibits, plus food and drink. Since alcohol will be served, attendees must be at least 21. General admission is $50.00.

Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses

Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses, which is located in Ulster Park, generally operates on Fridays and weekends from September 21 to November 2. The attractions include a labyrinth-like corn maze, a mile-long hayride, and seven haunted houses. There are also gift shops and eateries. The first hayride typically starts at 7 p.m. The attractions are generally not recommended for children under 13, but there are Children’s Days held during the day in the middle of October.
