Unique Stores in Tampa

Shopping at chain retail stores isn’t for everyone. In fact, plenty of people travel to visit unique local establishments – especially restaurants, retail stores, and museums – that can’t be found anywhere else. In addition, as fun as it is to shop for the self, vacations are great places to pick out gifts and souvenirs for others.

While Tampa has its fair share of chain stores, it’s also home to a lot of original shops. If you’re looking to sift through a good directory of local places, Local Shops 1 and Pinellas Life are two great sites that highlight unique shops, restaurants, services and more located in and around Tampa Bay.

Those lists have a lot to go through, however, so we’ll make some suggestions. If you’re looking for unique antique and vintage shops, check out Wisteria – they have a large selection of antiques, vintage items, “shabby chic” decor and other assorted gifts. Andrea and Friends Antiques Mall is located is St. Petersburg, and they house 42 dealers.

How about retail and accessories? DollsBags is perfect if you’d love a new, quality handbag.  Are consignment stores for you? Check out Black Swan Bazaar. If you’re on a budget, check out $5 fashions. Although they have 12 locations instead of just one, they’re great if you’re looking for a deal.

Need to give your skin a little TLC? Awaken Organic Skincare & Boutique has a large assortment of natural treatments. A book store, you say? Visit the Book Corner.

As you can see, there’s a lot to do in Tampa and a lot of places to go that are unique to the area. Sure, if you want to shop at JC Penney or Ann Taylor you’re sure to find one, but take some time to support local business and get an item that no one from your home town has! You won’t be disappointed.
