Pet Friendly Attractions Near Folly Beach, SC

Folly Beach is not only a beautiful beach for human tourists, but also for their best friends! The following list is sure to get both you and your loving dogs ready to go on a beach trip.
The first pet friendly place on Folly Beach is a given, especially since the beach itself allows dogs on the coast! Of course, there are rules for the beach at certain times of the year. For example, your pooch must be wearing a leash at all times. The fee for no leash can cost up to $500. Also, dogs are only allowed on the beach all day during off season, or October 1st through April 30th. Dogs are still allowed on the beach May 1st through September 30th, but they are prohibited between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Dogs are also welcome at the Folly Beach County Park. Like with the main part of the beach, dogs are allowed on leashes at all times during the off season, but they’re prohibited during the summer between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Your furry friends are also sure to have a blast at the Folly Beach Bark Park. Dogs are welcome at this bark park as long as their shots are up to date and they’re registered with the City of Folly Beach. Please note that all outside food and drinks are prohibited from the park and leashes are still required at this park. There is also a limit of 3 dogs per person. The Barrel Restaurant and Bar also allows dogs to play off-leash in the backyard. Please note that all dog owners are responsible for their own pets. The bar has a hose to rinse your dogs off if they become dirty as well as water bowls when they need a drink.

Some nearby hotels in the area are also pet friendly. Residence Inn By Marriot, for example, allows pets as long as guests pay a $100 non-refundable fee, or you can choose to stay at one of the select pet-friendly vacation rentals through Folly’s Best Rentals. Service animals are also welcome at the Days Inn Historic District. Pets are also welcome at this facility with an extra $10 per pet, per night fee, or a $100 pet sanitation fee if needed.

These are just a few different functions and facilities that welcome dogs. Folly Beach is one of the more pet-friendly cities in the Charleston, SC area, so you and your furry friend should find plenty to do!
