North Myrtle Beach Summer 2016 Events

The 11th Annual Mayfest on Main Festival will take place on May 7. It will be held on Main Street. It will include a community stage, live music, a children’s area, arts and crafts vendors and lots of food. The MayFest runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The 35th Annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival will take place on May 14 and 15, 2016. It celebrates the atmosphere of the Grand Strand area, which includes North Myrtle Beach. It will be held on the Waterfront in Little River. The Festival is one of the largest in the Southeast and routinely draws 50,000 attendees. It will offer 300 arts and crafts vendors, a children’s area, live music and lots of sea food dishes. To learn more, call (843)249-6604.

The Music on Main Concert Series starts on May 19. There will be a concert held every Thursday from May 19 to October 6. The concerts will be held at either of two locations: 202 Main Street or 11 S. Ocean Blvd. The hours for all the concerts will be 7 – 9 p.m. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. Bring a beach chair. Movies@McLean will start June 10 this summer. Outdoor movies will be shown at McLean Park, and they will start 15 minutes after sunset. Other movie dates for the summer are July 8, August 12, September 9 and October 14. The movies shown will be rated G or PG. Admission is free. The Annual Fireworks Display will be held on July 4th at the Cherry Grove Fishing Pier. It will run from 9:30 to 10 p.m. The pier is located on 3500 N. Ocean Blvd, and it is near the Prince Resort. The BFF Pink Ribbon Run is an event that will raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. Proceeds from fundraising and race registration will go to local cancer charities. There will be an expo on September 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the House of Blues. People participating in the races will pick up their information packets at the expo. The races will start at 10 a.m. on September 17, and they will take place at the Barefoot Resort. There will be a 5k race and a 10k race. For more information, visit
