Must-Consider Destination Wedding Locations

Destination weddings have become more popular in recent years. With the majority of those weddings being outdoors, it is probably safe to say a lot of couples said “I do” on a beach. If you are looking to do the same, then keep reading for some must-consider destination wedding locations with spectacular beaches.

Southport, Maine
Maine is the place to have your wedding if you love all things nautical and luxurious. The Maine Coast has a forest backdrop providing a beautiful combination of ocean and forest landscape. Newagen Seaside Inn is a great place to host a Maine wedding outdoors and have your reception at the Inn.

Southampton, New York
New York doesn’t get much recognition for its beautiful beaches, but they sure have them! Of Southampton’s seven beaches, consider looking into Coopers Beach.

Door County, Wisconsin
Door County offers multiple beach options along the freshwater shoreline of beautiful Lake Michigan. Additionally, this destination has a variety of wineries that could be perfect for a wedding reception or simply a fun activity for wedding guests.

Ludington, Michigan
Hop across the Lake to Ludington, Michigan and you have another great beach destination for weddings. Ludington State Park is a popular location for locals and tourists so consider a spring or fall wedding for a more personal and intimate ceremony.

Little Palm Island, Florida
If you want a small, intimate wedding, Little Palm Island is the perfect location for you. About 40 guests can reach the secluded island via boat to celebrate your big day as well as see a spectacular sunset! A wedding on Little Palm Island needs to be booked well in advance though.

Outer Banks, North Carolina
Another option for a private wedding is Ocracoke Island, which can be found in the southern tip of the Outer Banks. The beaches are breath-taking for a wedding and the Island’s lighthouses will add some historic charm to your wedding photos.

Maui, Hawaii
Hawaii has always been a hot spot for honeymoons, but it is also great for beach weddings and Maui sure does have a lot of beaches to choose from! The following have all been crowned America’s Best Beaches at some point: Kaanapali Beach, D.T. Fleming Beach Park, Kapalua Beach, Wailea Beach and Hamoa Beach.

Muir Beach, California
Muir Beach is a prime spot for a destination beach wedding due to its gorgeous scenery. It is also a short drive from San Francisco so guests can visit popular tourist attractions, such as the Golden Gate Bridge, while in California.
